Details of armed assault at currency exchange point revealed

A criminal case on armed assault was initiated by the Investigative Division of Avan and Nor Norq administrative districts of Yerevan, press service of the RA Investigative Committee reports. 

At 5:40 AM on March 16, a call was received that an armed assault occurred at a currency exchange point near Nor Nork market. The bandit fled the crime scene.

Investigative-operative group immediately arrived at the scene with the Head of Avan and Nor Nork Investigative Devision Aram Harutyunyan.

According to the source, the preliminary investigations revealed that the person having committed the apparent crime, masked and armed approached entrepreneur H. Asatryan’s currency exchange point in a dark blue Mercedes. Getting out of the car, the masked robber threatened H. Asatryan’s life and demanded money. When rejected, the robber fired multiple shots threatening other people’s lives as well.

Upon hearing the gunshots, people from adjacent shops approached and the suspect fled the scene on car.
An investigation of the criminal case is underway.
