Death rate among children under the age of 1 decrease

Compared with 2015, during the first trimester of 2016, the death rate among children aged 0-1 decreased by 7.2%, reports National Statistic Service of Armenia.

According to the source, infant mortality rate for 1 000 births, decreased by 0.4 per mille points and amounted to 8.4 ‰:

89 cases of deaths of children aged 0-4 were recorded in Armenia in January-March 2015. Death rate among children under the age of 1 amounted to 86.5%.

Mortality rate among children under the age of 5 (per 1000 live births) amounted to 9.7‰, 10.3‰ among boys and 9.0 ‰ among girls.
