Weightlifter Karen Avagyan wins a bronze medal of World Championships

Armenia’s men’s weightlifting youth team member Karen Avagyan conquered a bronze medal at the 2016 IWF Youth World Championships in Penang, Malaysia. The 17 year-old, who is the acting European champion, lifted the double-event of 318 kg (145+173)

Venezuela representative Giovanni Valenila conquered the World Champion title.  

To note, Armenia is represented by three athletes at the Championship. Varazdat Lalayan (+94 kg) and Arpineh Dalalyan (+69kg) are set to compete tomorrow.
