Levon Aronian to participate at GRENKE Chess Classic 2017

Armenian GM Levon Aronian is set to participate the GRENKE Chess Classic 2017 to be held from April 15-22.

As the official website of the tournament reports, World Champion Magnus Carlsen, who won the last GRENKE Chess Classic in 2015, will again be competing, ready to defend his title.

Except Carlsen, Aronian’s strongest competitors are top ten players Fabiano Caruana, Maxime Vachier-Lagrave, and Grandmaster Arkadij Naiditsch

Aronian will face Georg Meier in the first round of the tournament.
