No Syrian businessman to face hindrance in Armenia – Economy Minister

The Syrian Ministry of Economy and Trade has compiled a list of goods that are demanded in the Armenian market, the Charge D'Affairs of the Syrian Arab Republic to the Republic of Armenia Issam Nayal told during the meeting with Armenian Minister of Economic development and Investment Suren Karayan on Tuesday.

As the ministry reported in a released statement, Karayan pointed out that the ministry would explore the list, adding: “We are paying special attention to Syrian businessmen who are starting a business in Armenia We are ready to aid them. At the same time, we are happy they are transferring a new business culture here in Armenia.”

The minister stressed he hoped much the Syrian economy would recover and expressed readiness to assist.

Karayan next pointed that Armenia could serve as a platform for the Syrian business to enter the EAEU market. “No Syrian businessman will face hindrance in Armenia,” noted the minister.

The release goes on reading that the Syrian Charge D'Affairs informed the minister about the upcoming Damascus International Exhibition slated for August this year as well as the Forum “Reconstruction of Syria” for which Issam Nayal extended invitation to the Armenian side.

“I hope much this meeting will serve a starting point for development of the economic relations between of the two countries,” Issam Nayal noted at the end of the meeting.
