Criminal case launched into Azerbaijani shelling of Armenian TV crew

On May 10, at around 18:00, the filming crew of Armenian Shant TV channel ended up under Azerbaijani gunfire while driving through the territories of the Armenian Defense Army’s military positions.

In particular, the adversary opened fire from larger caliber weapons, sniper rifles and machine guns towards the vehicle of the TV channel’s filming crew of the program “In the posts”, due to which cameraman Davit Atoyan sustained a gunshot wound and hospitalized.

The Third Garrison Investigative Division of Armenia’s Investigative Committee launched a criminal case under Points 1, 6 and 13 of Part 2 of Article 104 of the RA Criminal Code (attempted murder of two or more people committed in a way dangerous for the life of many people on grounds of national, racial or religious hatred). Preliminary probe is underway.
