World Health Organization to support Armenia in its fight against smoking

With the initiative of the World Health Organization (WHO) a European meeting between the managers and organizers of the national programs to combat non-communicable diseases is underway in Moscow.

As Panorama.am was informed from the press service of Armenia’s Ministry of Health, head of the Armenian delegation Davit Melik-Nubaryan – Head of the Healthcare Policy Department of Ministry of Health – has briefed on the main provisions of the newly adopted anti-smoking strategy in Armenia, as well as the expected results.

The managers of the WHO programs to combat non-communicable diseases undertook commitment to support Armenia in realizing its anti-smoking initiative.

At the meeting, Russia’s minister of health Veronika Skvortsova presented the impressive achievements registered due to the anti-smoking measures in Russia.
