Russia's Central Bank issues commemorative coin dedicated to Aivazovsky’s 200th birth anniversary

The Central Bank of Russia has issued a commemorative coin dedicated to the 200th birth anniversary of prominent Russian-Armenian marine artist Hovhannes (Ivan) Aivazovsky, TASS reports, citing the bank’s press service.

One side of the coin features Aivazovsky’s image on the background of an episode from the Ninth Wave canvas by the painter.

The commemorative coin has been issued with 3000 copies.
