The index of ultraviolet rays predicted to reach 7 on August 9 - Hydro-Meteorological Service

High temperature is predicted in the territory of Armenia on August 9-13, the Hydro-Meteorological Service of the RA Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) reported on Monday. According to the source, in the daytime up to 39...41 degrees above zero and a high risk of fire is predicted in the valleys of Syunik, in Yerevan and Ararat Valley. The daily average air temperature will be 5-7 degrees higher than normal.

On August 9, the index of ultraviolet rays is predicted to reach 7, so it’s recommended to avoid direct sunrays from 11:00 to 17:00, the release detailed, adding long-lasting physical work under the direct sunrays can cause sunstroke.

On August 9-13, no precipitation is predicted in the republic. Southwest wind speed is 3-8 m/s. The air temperature will not change considerably.
