British woman arrested for 'preparing terrorist acts' at Heathrow Airport

UK counter terrorism officers have arrested a woman on suspicion of plotting a terror attack, Metro.co.uk reported.

Officers from the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command arrested the 27-year-old UK national at Heathrow Airport.

She had just stepped arrived on a flight from Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopa, when she was detained, Scotland Yard said.

She was arrested on suspicion of preparation of terrorist acts under section 5 of the Terrorist Act 2006.

Police said: ‘She was detained under PACE and taken to a south London police station, where she currently remains in police custody.’

Enquiries continue.
