FIFA World Cup trophy arrives in Yerevan tomorrow

Armenian football fans will have a unique opportunity to get up close to the World Cup trophy that will come to Yerevan for the first time on February 7. The FIFA World Cup™ Trophy Tour organized by Coca-Cola is visiting 91 cities, across 51 countries and six continents, giving thousands of fans the chance to experience football's most coveted prize.

The Yerevan Tour by Coca-Cola will kick off with a press conference to be followed by a public display at Liberty Square from 16:00 to 17:00 for everyone to have a glimpse at the solid-gold trophy. As Coca-Cola reports, only champions of the FiFA World Cup and heads of states have the right to touch the trophy.

At a closed ceremony planned in Yerevan, the president of Armenia will receive the trophy from France's World Cup-winning former footballer Christian Karembeu.

To note, this is the fourth time in history that Coca-Cola and FIFA have come together to bring the Trophy Tour to the world. This year, the 2018 FIFA World Cup™ Trophy Tour will touch down in a number of nations for the first tim before settling back in host-nation Russia in May.
