Growth in canned food production volumes recorded in Armenia

Processing companies operating in Armenia have increased the production volumes of canned products. As Panorama.am learn from the National Statistical Service (NSS), a total of 198.1 tons of canned products have been produced in Armenia in January 2018, a 7.6 % increase from the year before.

According to the released data, a total of 132.5 tons of canned vegetables were produced in the accounting period - a 12.1% rise compared to 5 820.1 tons produced in January 2017.

Meantime, the canned fish production dropped by 40.5%-, constituting 7.2 tones, while fruit production in the indicated period made up 44.5 tones, constituting 5.9% decline.

According to the statistics, a total of 2,721.6 tons canned tomato paste was manufactured in the reporting period, which is a 12.2% rise over the past year's volumes.

Some 12.1 tons of ketchup were produced within one month of the current year against the 22.3 tons produced in January 2017.
