Latvia unanimously ratifies Armenia-EU agreement

The Latvian parliament (Saeima) has unanimously ratified in the second reading the Armenia-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA), Armenian MP Armen Ashotyan said in a post on Facebook.

The agreement received a total of 76 votes in favour, he said.

After Estonia, Latvia is the second EU member state to ratify the Armenia-EU deal.

Earlier on Thursday Armenia’s President Armen Sarkissian signed the bill on ratifying the agreement into law.

The Armenia-EU agreement was signed in the margins of the Eastern Partnership Summit in Brussels on 24 November 2017.
