Armenian GM Levon Aronian has advanced by 7 spots to take the 6th place with 2780 points in the latest World Chess Federation (FIDE) ratings released on Saturday.
Magnus Carlsen (2839) is still world’s No. 1, followed by Fabiano Caruana (2827) and Shahriyar Mammadyarov (2820).
The top 100 features two other Armenian chess players – Gabriel Sargsyan and Hrant Melkumyan.
