ECHR re-elects Raimondi as its head

Guido Raimondi (Italian) has been re-elected as President of the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR).

His term as president will finish on 4 May 2019, at the same time as his mandate as judge, the court’s official website reports.

Raimondi has been a judge at the ECHR since 5 May 2010 and gained its presidency on 1 November 2015.

He is the author of numerous publications in the field of international law, particularly human rights.
