IWF World Weightlifting Championship: Simon Martirosyan - world champion

Armenia's representative Simon Martirosyan (109 kg) became a world champion at the IWF World Weightlifting Championship in Ashgabat with a result of 435 kilograms.

He lifted 230kg in the cean and jerk, setting a world record, and 240kg at a second attempt, setting a new record.

He was the second with 195 kilograms in the snatch lift.
