One soldier missing in avalanche in Armenia’s Syunik

Five servicemen of the Armenian Armed Forces were reportedly stuck in an avalanche in Armenia’s Syunik region on Wednesday, Defense Ministry spokesman Artsrun Hovhannisyan told Panorama.am. 

Four of the soldiers have been recovered and are in an excellent health condition, he said, adding one soldier has gone missing.

“The search and rescue operations for the missing serviceman are underway,” the spokesman added.

No other details of the incident were immediately clear.
