Ground blizzard, fog hit some roads in Armenia

Armenia’s Ministry of Transport, Communication and Information Technologies reports ground blizzard on the roads of Aragats, Artik and Gavar districts, as well as Vedi-Lanjar, Kuchak-Aparan and Lanjik road sections as of 9:30am Wednesday.

Fog has descended over Dilijan turns, reducing the visibility to 80-100 meters. The Aragats and Gavar roads are partly covered with black ice.

Kuchak-Aparan highway is difficult to pass due to blizzard and low visibility.

Vardenyats Pass is shut down due to a severe snowstorm and extremely low visibility.

Road maintenance works are underway, the ministry said.

All the other interstate and republican roads in the country are open for traffic.
