President attends concert dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Gyumri State Symphony Orchestra

Armenian President Armen Sarkissian and his spouse Nune Sarkissian during the trip to the country’s second largest city Gyumri attended a cultural event, celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Gyumri State Symphony Orchestra. The event took place at Gyumri State Drama Theatre after Vardan Achemyan, was attended by composer, maestro Tigran Mansuryan, art people, representatives of art-loving public.

After the concert, the president met with the leadership of the Orchestra and congratulated on the occasion of the anniversary, thanked for unwavering dedication to art and culture.

“4-5 year after the earthquake, Gyumri decided to have an orchestra. It could be done only by unique people of will, dedication and conviction,” the president noted.

As the press department at the President’s Office reported, Armen Sarkissian also expressed readiness to support the further implementation of the Orchestra programmes.
