Authorities investigate armed robbery in Yerevan supermarket

One of the branches of New Zovq Supermarket in a district in the Armenian capital of Yerevan came under a robbery attack late on Wednesday.

Police say the attack happened at around 11:20pm on 85 Vilnius Street in Nor Nork District. 

Two unidentified masked men stole money from the supermarket’s cash desk with the threat of a gun-like object, police told Panorama.am.

Armenia’s Investigative Committee has launched a criminal case into banditry under Article 175 of the Criminal Code.

Investigative and search operations are underway to track down the perpetrators.

Over the past month, Mellat Bank, a VTB Bank branch, a bookmaker office and two credit organization branches came under an assault.
