Armenian parliament adopts bill on new government structure

The Armenian National Assembly adopted in the first reading a bill setting a new structure of the government at a sitting on Thursday.

A total of 71 lawmakers voted for the draft law, while 40 voted against.

The bill envisages reducing the number of ministries from 17 to 12, impacting over 200 jobs.

The Prosperous Armenia and Bright Armenia factions voted against the bill.
