Robert Hovhannisyan - the winner of Villa de Benasque tournament

Armenian Grandmaster Robert Hovhannisyan has won a major international chess tournament in Spain. As the Chess Federation reports, the Armenian scored 8.5 points out of 10 and became the winner of Villa de Benasque International Chess Open concluded in Benasque, on July 18. The tournament was attended by 430 players, including 34 grandmasters from 28 countries.

Another Armenian player Samvel Ter Sahakyan gained 8 points and shared 3-8 places in the tournament table.
