Prisoner escapes from Yerevan hospital

Arayik Sargsyan, a 31-year-old convict of the Nubarashen Penitentiary in Yerevan has escaped Erebouni Medical Center where he was receiving treatment.

The incident occurred on Sunday, at around 5am, the correction facility’s press service reported.

Sargsyan, who had previously been convicted seven times, was sentenced to 6 years and 6 months in prison under Article 177.3 of the Criminal Code (theft by illegal entering into an apartment, warehouse or facility).
