Armenia saw a total of 27 road traffic accidents from 1 to 4 January, killing two people and wounding 39 others, police said in a report on Saturday.
In the same period last year, 56 traffic accidents were reported, as a result of which 5 people died, while 113 others suffered varying degrees of injuries.
On 1-4 January police officers caught 186 alcohol-impaired drivers, including 65 in Yerevan, as it stepped up action against drunk driving across the country during the holidays.
