Armenian government to allocate over 3 billion drams for constitutional referendum

At a meeting on Thursday, the Armenian government decided to allocate a total of 3 billion 447 million drams from its reserve fund to prepare and conduct the constitutional referendum.

Of the sum, around 2,5 billion drams will be allocated to the Central Electoral Commission, and 234,317 million drams – to the Police of Armenia.

The referendum on constitutional changes is scheduled for 5 April.

The amendments proposed by deputies of the ruling My Step bloc would dismiss Constitutional Court Chairman Hrayr Tovmasyan and seven of the nine judges of Armenia’s highest court elected before April 9, 2018.
