First doctor honored with title of National Hero of Armenia

Doctor Hagop Hovaguimian has been honored with the highest National Hero of Armenia title - awarded "for outstanding services, creating a medical center specialized in conducing complex heart surgeries, training numerous specialists and saving numerous human lives.’ Along with the title, Hovaguimian has received the Order of Fatherland by the presidential decree for his contributions to the improvement of health care in Armenia.

 

To note, Hagob Hovahumian is the first doctor who has ever received the title of the National Hero of Armenia and is the 19th recipient of the award.

 

Dr. Hagop Hovaguimian, MD is a general surgery specialist in Portland, OR and has been practicing for 29 years. He graduated from University Of Aleppo, Faculty Of Medicine in 1977 and specializes in general surgery.
