Spokesman: Iran won’t allow deployment of terrorists in areas adjacent to its northern borders

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh on Wednesday reacted to the reports of the transfer of PKK fighters, as well as PJAK (the Kurdistan Free Life Party) and Syrian Wahhabi terrorists, to the Caucasus, the Armenian Unified Infocenter said.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran will by no means allow the terrorist organizations to transform the regions adjacent to our northern borders into a threat to our national security. A transfer of clashes to the Caucasus will bring a much larger catastrophe than the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict,” he stated.

In the early morning of September 27, Azerbaijan launched a massive air and artillery attack on the Artsakh military positions and numerous civilian settlements and infrastructure in the country, including capital Stepanakert. Seven civilians have been killed in Artsakh as a result of Azerbaijani attacks since the start of hostilities.
