Stepanakert, the capital city of Artsakh, has come under fresh Azerbaijani airstrikes, according to Armenian Defense Ministry representative Artsrun Hovhannisyan.
“There are reports of damages and civilian casualties,” Hovhannisyan wrote on Facebook on Sunday.
In the early morning of September 27, Azerbaijan launched a massive air and artillery attack on the Artsakh military positions and numerous civilian settlements and infrastructure in the country, including Stepanakert, the towns of Martuni, Martakert and Hadrut. Artsakh civilians were told to take shelter.
Both Armenia and Artsakh have declared martial law and a general mobilization.
