Azerbaijan continues shelling Artsakh settlements despite the humanitarian ceasefire - Defense Army

Despite the fact that the Artsakh Defense Army adheres to the humanitarian ceasefire agreed in Moscow and ceased the fighting, the Azerbaijani side continues artillery strikes at Stepanakert, Hadrut, Martuni and other settlements of the Artsakh Republic.

According to the Defense Army, at the same time the Azerbaijani side spreads false information about targeting Ganja town by the units of the Artsakh Army. "These allegations are complete lie and are not consistent with reality," the Defense Army said.

To remind, the Artsakh Defense Army reported on Saturday that Azerbaijani military launched an assault in the direction of an area known as Karakhambeyli within minutes of the ceasefire coming into effect. Before the humanitarian ceasefire was enforced, the Azerbaijani side also attempted a diversion and reconnaissance mission in the direction of Hadrut.

The developments came following the Friday consultations held in Moscow on Russia’s initiative, where Azerbaijan and Armenia agreed on a humanitarian ceasefire to start at 12:00 p.m. on October 10 to exchange prisoners and other detainees and bodies of those killed in the conflict.
