Heavy fighting reported on Artsakh's southern front

Representative of the Armenian Defense Ministry Artsrun Hovhannisyan reported heavy fighting on the southern border of Artsakh on Friday afternoon.

"At the moment, heavy battles are taking place on the southern frontline,” he wrote on Facebook.

In a statement earlier on Friday, the Artsakh Defense Ministry said that after midnight, the Azerbaijani forces tried to launch a new attack in the southeastern direction, which was thwarted by the Artsakh army units.

“The enemy forces also attempted to gain success in the northern part of the frontline, and these attempts were also thwarted, with the enemy forces suffering heavy losses here as well,” the statement said.
