Over 2,100 people return to their homes in Artsakh in 24 hours

More than 2,100 refugees returned to Stepanakert, the capital of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh), from Armenia within the past 24 hours, Sputnik reported, citing the Russian Defense Ministry.

"On November 27, 2020, Russian peacekeepers escorted a new convoy of buses with refugees to Nagorno-Karabakh from the Republic of Armenia. The buses arrived from Yerevan at the main square of Stepanakert, having delivered 2,115 people to Nagorno-Karabakh," the ministry said on late Friday.

In accordance with the agreements specified in the joint statement of the leaders of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan, a complete ceasefire and all military operations in Nagorno-Karabakh were declared from 00:00 Moscow time on November 10.

A peacekeeping contingent of the Russian Federation has been deployed to monitor the ceasefire and military operations in Artsakh.

The Russian contingent is based on units of the 15th separate motorized rifle brigade (peacekeeping) of the Central Military District.
