Armenian lawyers appeal to ECHR over facts of 19 people tortured and killed in Azerbaijani captivity

Lawyers Artak Zeynalyan and Siranush Sahakyan issued another statement on the protection of the rights of Armenian prisoners of war (POW) in the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR). 

According to it, during the second Artsakh war started on September 27 in 2020 as well as after the trilateral statement signed on November 9, the Azerbaijani side has continued capturing Armenian civilians and servicemen. 

"19 people who had been taken prisoner in Azerbaijan were tortured and killed by Azerbaijani servicemen, which is considered a war crime. We applied to the ECHR over the fact of killing and torturing of prisoners and other detainees," the lawyers said in statement. They have also shared the list of victims:
