Armen Ashotyan: If opposition forces continue campaigning like this, Pashinyan will suffer ‘total defeat’ in snap elections

I’m Honored bloc’s representative Armen Ashotyan assessed as “highly positive” the campaign of the “actual” opposition forces for the June 20 snap parliamentary elections in Armenia.

Speaking at a news conference on Friday, he said the alliance has obviously stepped up its efforts both in terms of shaping the political agenda and work on the ground, presenting accurate assessments of the current situation to the public.

Ashotyan expressed confidence that if the opposition forces continue campaigning like this, caretaker Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan will suffer a “total defeat” in the early elections.

At the same time, he warned the opposition parties and blocs against “getting carried away by an individual game.”

Speaking about the election campaign rallies held by Pashinyan, he noted: “Basically, it can’t be called an election campaign. Nikol’s campaigning is reminiscent of a collapsed sewer line, the stinking water from which spills across the country. And this damaged sewage system will continue to poison the lives of citizens and the political agenda of Armenia for another 8 days.”

“We urgently need a team to come and repair this sewerage after June 21, so that the stench does not spread throughout Armenia any longer,” Ashotyan added.
