Preliminary results: Civil Contract wins 53.92% of the vote in snap elections

According to preliminary data published by Armenia’s Central Electoral Commission (CEC), Nikol Pashinyan's Civil Contract Party won 53.92% of the vote in Sunday’s snap parliamentary elections.

The Armenia bloc, led by second President Robert Kocharyan, came second with 21.04%, while the I’m Honored bloc garnered 5.23% of the vote.

The Prosperous Armenia Party and Republic Party gained 3.96% and 3.04% of the vote, respectively.

The other political forces received less than 2% of the vote.

The results are based on ballot papers from all 2008 precincts counted.

The voter turnout stood at 49.4% or 1,281,174 voters.

21 parties and four blocs ran in Sunday’s elections.
