Quake hits near Armenian village of Bavra

The Territorial Survey for Seismic Protection of Armenia’s Ministry of Emergency Situations detected a magnitude 3.1 earthquake in the Armenia-Georgia border area on Thursday, July 8, at 2:03pm.

The earthquake struck 12 km north-east of the village of Bavra in Shirak Province at a depth of 10 km.

The tremor measured magnitude 4 at the epicenter.

The jolts were felt in Alaverdi town, the villages of Paghaghbyur, Akori (Lori Province) and Bavra with magnitude 3.
