Artsakh ombudsman: Shots fired near Shushi

Shooting was reported near the town of Shushi late on Tuesday, Artsakh’s Human Rights Ombudsman Gegham Stepanyan said.

In a public post on Facebook, the ombudsman said he had contacted the competent authorities to find out the circumstances of the incident.

“I was told that shots were fired from firearms into the air, but there was no targeted fire. Our armed forces took appropriate precautionary measures, as a result of which the Azerbaijani side stopped firing,” Stepanyan said.

“At this moment no consequences have been reported according to our study,” he added.
