Sisian community head Artur Sargsyan arrested

The head of the Sisian community of Armenia’s southeastern Syunik Province has been arrested, Investigative Committee spokesman Vardan Tadevosyan told Pastinfo.

Artur Sargsyan has been charged with abuse of office and fraud under Article 308 (Part 2) and Article 314 (Part 1) of Armenia’s Criminal Code.

The Prosecutor's Office earlier filed a motion to the Central Electoral Commission to strip Sargsyan of immunity and the CEC granted the petition.
