Quake hits Armenia-Georgia border area

The Territorial Survey for Seismic Protection of Armenia’s Ministry of Emergency Situations detected a magnitude 2.8 earthquake in the Armenia-Georgia border area on Friday, August 6, at 4:49pm.

The earthquake struck 14 km north-east of the village of Bavra in Shirak Province at a depth of 10 km.

The tremor measured magnitude 3-4 at the epicenter.

The jolts were felt in the villages of Norashen and Sarchapet in Lori Province with magnitude 2.
