Armenian police say five drivers protesting against car insurance premiums rise detained

Police in Armenia on Monday detained five drivers protesting against the expected increase in car insurance premiums in Yerevan's Republic Square.

They were detained for the failure to comply with the lawful demand of police officers, the law enforcement agency told Panorama.am.

Also, three vehicles were moved to the penalty area, it said.

The rise in car insurance costs will take effect in Armenia starting from February 7.
