Stepantsminda-Larsi road closed to all vehicles amid avalanche risk

Stepantsminda-Larsi highway is closed to all vehicles because of avalanche risk as of Monday morning, the Armenian Ministry of Emergency Situations said, citing the Department of Emergency Situations of Georgia's Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Crisis Management Center (CMC) of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in North Ossetia.

There are some 274 trucks on the Russian side.

“Drivers are recommended to use exclusively winter tires,” the ministry said.
