Police detain young activists blocking road in Yerevan

A group of young opposition activists demanding Nikol Pashinyan’s resignation on Friday blocked Abovyan Street in central Yerevan after holding an awareness campaign in Yerevan State University.

They sat in the middle of the street, urging students to join the boycott of classes. Shortly afterwards, officers of a special police task force, known as “red berets”, began to push them away to restore traffic on the road.

Some of the protesters were detained.
