The Supreme Judicial Council (SJC), a state body overseeing Armenian courts, has nominated judge Grigor Hovhannisyan to become a justice of the Court of Criminal Appeals.
He would replace judge Alexander Azaryan who tendered his resignation on 19 September.
Azaryan was formally dismissed by the judicial watchdog on September 22.
Hovhannisyan served as a judge for the Court of General Jurisdiction of Ararat and Vayots Dzor Provinces before being nominated for the vacant post.
