Wrestler Malkhas Amoyan dedicates World Championships win to Armenian, Yazidi peoples

Greco-Roman wrestler Malkhas Amoyan has dedicated his victory at the U23 World Wrestling Championships to the Armenian and Yazidi peoples.

Amoyan, who is of Yazidi origin, beat Alexandrin Gutu of Moldova 7-2 in the 77 kg final late on Tuesday to win his first U23 world title.

“Thank you all. I dedicate my victory to the Armenian and Yazidi nations. This victory belongs to all of us," the wrestler wrote on Facebook.
