EU's Klaar hails 'important' meeting of Armenian, Azeri FMs in Washington

EU Special Representative Toivo Klaar has hailed Monday’s meeting between the Armenian and Azerbaijani foreign ministers in Washington as “important”.

“It is encouraging that Ararat Mirzoyan and Jeyhun Bayramov are engaged in a substantive process of negotiations for a bilateral peace treaty,” he tweeted on Tuesday.

The two ministers were later joined by U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken who hosted trilateral talks at Blair House, a state guest house in Washington.
