Magnitude 5․6 quake hits near Russian city; tremors felt in Armenia

A magnitude 5․6 earthquake struck Russia’s Dagestan region early on Thursday.

The quake was 99 km southwest of the city of Makhachkala and at a depth of 10 km, the Armenian Ministry of Emergency Situations said.

The tremors were also felt in some parts of Armenia, including Tavush, Lori and Gegharkunik Provinces, measured at 3.
