Armenia's Samvel Gasparyan earns bronze at World Weightlifting Championships

Armenian athlete Samvel Gasparyan (102 kg) has claimed a bronze medal at the 2022 World Weightlifting Championships in Bogota, Colombia.

He lifted a combined weight of 389 kg, with 175 kg in snatch and 214 kg in clean and jerk to win bronze on Wednesday, the National Olympic Committee reported.

Two female Armenian weightlifters, Liana Gyurjyan (81 kg) and Hripsime Khurshudyan (87 kg), are set to hit the competition platform on Thursday.
