Azerbaijan's blockade of the sole road connecting Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) to Armenia and the outside world entered the sixth day on Saturday.
The Artsakh Interior Ministry is on a high alert to properly ensure public order and security in the capital Stepanakert and the regions given the situation following the Azerbaijani blockade of Artsakh, it said in a statement.
The blockade began on Monday morning, when a group of so-called Azerbaijani “eco activists” stopped traffic on the road, known as the Lachin corridor, citing “illegal” mining activity in the area. Later on Tuesday, Azerbaijan also cut off the gas supply to Artsakh, which was restored on Friday.
