Le Figaro deputy director: Grocery stores in Artsakh running on empty, families separated

The deputy director of Le Figaro newspaper, Jean-Christophe Buisson, has sounded the alarm over the worsening humanitarian situation in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) amid the blockade imposed by Azerbaijan since 12 December.

“120,000 Armenians have been locked up in their own country by Azerbaijan for one month now,” he said in a tweet on Tuesday. “Temperatures are down to -10C in Artsakh, grocery stores are running on empty, families are separated amid the ongoing humanitarian crisis. But what are the big guys of this world doing? Just Nothing!”

Earlier on Sunday, Buisson shared photos of Azerbaijani soldiers replacing the so-called eco-activists on the Lachin corridor, Artsakh’s sole land link with Armenia.

“With the temperatures down to -10C, the Azeri pseudo environmental activists have left for Baku to warm up and have been replaced by masked soldiers,” he wrote. “This is indeed an act of war against the Artsakh Armenians.”
