U.S. Helsinki Commission calls for immediate reopening of Lanchin corridor
The U.S. Helsinki Commission has called for immediate efforts to reopen the Lanchin corridor, the sole road connecting Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) to Armenia and the outside world, blocked by Azerbaijan for nearly one month.
“The blocking of trade and transit on the Lanchin corridor is contributing to a humanitarian catastrophe in Karabakh, and should be lifted immediately,” it said in a tweet on Tuesday.
“Azerbaijan has a moral responsibility for ensuring the welfare of Karabakh Armenians,” the Helsinki Commission stressed.
