One soldier injured as Azerbaijani forces fire at Armenian positions

An Armenian serviceman was wounded after Azerbaijani troops opened fire at Armenian combat positions near the village of Yeraskh in Armenia’s Ararat Province on Thursday morning, the country’s Defense Ministry reported.

The soldier, identified only by his initials as E. Sh., sustained a gunshot injury at around 10:50am.

“The serviceman's health condition is assessed as serious,” the ministry said in a statement.

An investigation into the circumstances of the incident is underway.
